SAME SOUND, BIG DIFFERENCE!

The nighttime storm bought lightning that was lightening the dark sky.

You pore over a report when you read it carefully, but you pour water on your garden.

I can't hear you unless you're sitting here next to me.

You can alter your behavior, but don't sacrifice your life on the altar of career advancement.

No one knows the trouble I've had with my stuffy nose.

PRAYERS:

Mrs. Walker's father's surgery went quite well. Thank you for your prayers.

In Mrs. Landreville's 8th Grade Religion Class students were asked to write an essay on the topic, Living out the Values of Vatican II this is one students reflection.

A way that St. Michael's Church supports its parishioners is by having Mass said three times on the weekend to fill the parishioners Sunday obligation. Also they give money to the school to be allowed to go to Hope for the City, which is an organization that receives perishable and non-perishable products, and give it to those in need.

To participate in the Mass fully means to believe. If you do not believe that the wine and bread turn into Jesus blood and body then you are really not participating. If you are singing to the psalms and you are responding strongly this shows that you are participating. Yes, I know that most people think it is the most boring part of the Mass, to fully participate you have to listen to the homily. You have to allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with the wisdom that he gave to the priest to give that homily.

It is a good attitude to forgive because if we do not forgive then we will not be forgiven. We as the people of God need to show others that He is a forgiving God. Others need to know by seeing people fear the Lord out of love not love the Lord out of fear.

To hear the Scripture and the Bible read out loud at Church or even at home can help me live a better Christian life. It shows me how much God loves me. To visualize Jesus walking up to the disciples and saying, "Carry your cross and follow me." But, I also think that reading the lives of the saints, Mother Theresa, and Pope John Paul II shows me that these men and women can be or are on there way to becoming saints. I always ask myself why can't I become a saint if Saint Therese the Little Flower can become a saint by doing ordinary things extraordinarily well then I too might be able to have the honor to become a saint.

The issues of a synod should address in my opinion today are finding a way to have the government ban abortion. Also, I believe that instead of the schools keeping the financial aid money they should bring all of the money together and split it among all of the Catholic schools equally.

Lay people can bring change in the world by being faithful to God. If all lay people can bring one person to get baptized the Church would be two times as big. Also lay people can teach children about God.

The people who share their faith in my life is Father O'Hotto. He helps the teachers during religion classes. He always comes in and answers all of our questions about our religion and sometimes about other religions. He spreads his knowledge about God to all those who will listen and not walk away. When I serve funerals and Mass he always tells the servers and me that we did a good job but for some of the servers he tells them that they did a great job like always.

Also my grandfather Art, he is the holiest man I know that is not a priest. Every time my family comes together he tells us to keep the faith. When there are sorrows and bad times in the economy we can always lean on our faith. After we are done saying our before meals prayer and before the sign of the cross my grandfather always does this and it is a habit for our family to do. It changes every time yet stays the same. We pray for those who are less fortunate, for those fighting in the war, and any new things that need to be prayed for. I could go on about how my grandfather has shared his faith throughout my fourteen almost fifteen years living on this earth. How it does not matter how much money we have in life only if we have our family and our faith. He shows us how to love others and God. He does not love any one of all my cousins differently even though sometimes he calls Alex Adam or Caitlin Lindsey or Lindsey Caitlin or Lindsey Krista or Jill Caitlin he still loves us equally. He always reminds us that if it were not for his brother John we would not be living as we are today. But he reminds us again that no money can come between God and us. Every year my grandfather always feeds the deer, turkeys, and birds this shows his grandchildren to love God's animals. He is the kind of guy you want to know. He is the glue that keeps the family together. He is the energizer bunny that keeps on going keeps on spreading the good news about God to all people.

According to Satan, why did Job honor God?

Because God had protected him and made him rich.
Because he was foolish
Because his parents had taught him to.
Because his three friends made him.

Cell phone vs. Bible

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several time a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go.....hmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing..

Unlike our=2 0cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no

dropped calls!
