COMING HOME

CORRECTION: There will be bussing on Tuesday Sep. 29. The next school day with no bus is Wednesday, Oct.14.

 

TESTING – Grades 1 – 8
On Monday, September 28 students will begin the SAT10 test. Grades 1-3 use paper and pencil test forms grades 4-8 will do online testing. Please be sure they eat a good breakfast and go to bed early. Testing in the past has taken about a week to complete.

CULVERS - We received $450.00 for our Culvers Night. Thanks to all who participated. Thank you to all who participated at Chuck E. Cheese. Our next night out will be at Noodles on October 19 from 4 – 8 PM. Mark your calendars now, I hear their Macaroni and Cheese is a kid’s favorite.

TARGET-We received a check from Target for $664.77. Thank you to everyone who uses a Target VISA credit card when shopping.

SILENT AUCTION BIDDERS NEEDED:

The 2009 Silent Auction will include its usual array of gift baskets: for the handyman to a new baby, housewarming gifts to birthday gifts, and a wide variety of gift cards too. Don't miss certificates for the Boy Scout Pancake Breakfast, an assortment of Girl Scout Cookies, furnace cleaning from Bill Rascher Mechanical, and four hours of house cleaning from M.B.'s Cleaning. You'll find donations from Captain Ken Foods, CBL Floors, Cossetta's, & St. Patrick's Guild with more to come.

FALL FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT SEP. 27

Our school secretary, Linda Winston is singing with her jazz quartet at 2:15 PM. Please come, say ‘hi’, and enjoy the music.

KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Jeanne Maanum will be the substitute teacher while Mrs. Breckenridge is on maternity leave. Mrs. Maanum subbed for us last year when Mrs. Lilja was on maternity leave. Mrs. Maanum has licenses in two areas; Elementary Education K-6 and Pre-Primary age 3-K. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biology from St. Cloud Sate University and a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the College of St. Catherine.

Mrs. Breckenridge is due with twin boys the first part of November. Do you know of anyone interested in babysitting twin boys starting possibly in January? Contact the school or Mrs. Breckenridge.

VIRTUS – New Families

If you did not attend the Home & School Meeting Tuesday evening, you should be getting a VIRTUS booklet today. If you do not receive one, please let the office know.

PARENTS – Two events coming up where we need your help.

Wednesday, Oct. 7 drivers are needed to take 7th & 8th grade students to the Cathedral from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Background checks are required for parent drivers. Contact the office for forms and information.

Saturday, Oct. 3, Marathon Day from 9 – 10am. Parents are needed to guide students through an event. (If you already signed up to help, no need to fill out the form below.)
