HAT and MITTEN COLLECTION – CAN YOU HELP?

St. Michael students have the opportunity to practice Corporal Works of Mercy by donating new hats, mittens, and other outerwear to those who cannot afford them during this cold season. The fourth grade students will collect these winter clothing items from classrooms on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from November 28th through December 8th. The items will then be donated to Neighbor’s Inc. If you are able to buy something extra for a needy person this winter, please send it with your child. We can follow Jesus and make a difference in someone’s life!

TOY COLLECTION – One of our traditions has been to do a toy collection for Neighbors, Inc. As indicated on the calendar our main collection will be on Dec. 8. The students can bring in toys at any time and we will extend the date to the 14th if need be. Please give according to your comfort level.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

Linda Haeg has been busy for a number of years volunteering in many capacities. She has been traveling to St. Louis Park at least twice a month to pick up Hope for the City items, she was the Vice-President of the Home & School Association and is now the President. She helps to organize the volunteers and I am sure I am forgetting some of her other job descriptions. Why so much? In her words, you feel the family atmosphere of the school and see just how hard teachers’ work and their dedication.
