St. Michaels School graduate, Christina Santos of WSP, has received a
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities President Student Leadership and
Service Award. This award, given to only 1/2 of 1% of the student body,
recognizes students who exhibit exceptional leadership and service to the
University and the surrounding community. Santos, who received her nursing
degree this spring, has volunteered at Children's and St. Joseph's
Hospitals and with an after-school tutoring program for high school Latino
youth. She was also a member of the University's Nursing College Board for

T
Sainted: I would like to saint the staff of St. Michael's School in West St. Paul. My son Oliver attends kindergarten there. The staff really is amazing.
When I bring Oliver to school and we walk through the halls, different teachers will say, "Good morning, Oliver, sorry to see you were sick yesterday, glad to see you today."
I think that is rare, and special to have people go out of their way like that. I think that is going to help Oliver with his self-esteem and confidence. I have seen tremendous growth with his reading, writing and spiritual growth. I feel totally comfortable trusting these people with the tremendous responsibility of introducing education to my son. Mrs. McSweeny and Mrs. Charley are amazing, as is the rest of the team.
