CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
The Good Shepherd Program is part of the school curriculum for kindergarten through 4th grade children. A preschool program for children ages 3-5 is also offered one day a week.
This program weaves the truths of our Catholic faith into the children and seeks to foster in them a sense of mystery, wonder and joy. Specially trained catechists (teachers) use the parable method of teaching and help the children fall in love with God. The children learn about the sacraments and are introduced to tangible elements of the Mass through use of a miniature altar, which the children work with in a special room called an atrium. This religious formation is both biblical and sacramental and is a wonderful and unique way of teaching religion to young children.
